Today I learned that a good friend of mine from graduate school - a talented solid-state physicist, loving husband and father, and dedicated "armchair philosopher" - died suddenly yesterday. There are many things I could say, and perhaps should say, but to a certain extent it feels wrong to say anything at all.

  1. Sorry to hear it. These things are shocking, and yeah, there is probably nothing to be said. I don't know them, but I will try to think of them. The world needs armchair philosophers.

  2. makes everybody kinda sad, even the people that didn't know him well.

  3. Thank you for the sentiment - it means a lot to know one doesn't suffer alone.
